History: The parish had the first residing priest from 1875 to 1878. For 76 years, Priests from Morapai and Khari used to pay visit until Fr. Sedej, SJ settled
down in 1954 as a permanent resident priest. He bought a big expanse of paddy fields with the intention of giving work to the community by employing
them in its cultivation. After his death in 1963, he was succeeded by Fr. Jozef Cukale, SJ who was helped by Brother Vidmar, SJ, Fr. Stephen Polgar, SJ took
over in 1965. But after a few years, it was felt that the big expanse of land properties was much of a burden and occasion for misgivings. The land was
distributed among the faithful and, as Priests were in short supply, the Parish of Baidyapur was left to the care of the catechist Sri Amalendu Sarkar from
1970 to be visited by the Priests from Khari. Since 1996 starting with Fr. J. Santhanam there is always a resident priest. The old presbytery and the church
were extended and renovated in 2000, during the time of Fr. Rosomoy Kanji.
