History:
Detached from Basanti in 1998, the quasi Parish was created with Bharatgarh, Goranbosh and Jharkhali as its substations. Jharkhali is a new settlement on the borders of Sundarbans forests. The present church was blessed in December 3, 2003 during the time of Fr. Auguste E.
