History:
Detached from Basanti, it was established as a Parish in
1975. When Fr. Ante Gabric, SJ was replaced by Fr. Pradeep
Roy at Basanti in 1975, he realized his dream to break new
grounds further. He went to Kumrokhali as the first Parish
Priest. Soon came up a 'Mariapalli', (Mary's Village) with a
church, a workshop, a Shishu Bhavan and a dispensary run by the MC Sisters.
