Death Anniversary of Bishop Linus

The first death anniversary of Late Bishop, Linus Nirmal Gomes, S.J. was marked with a prayer service in the Cathedral of Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Teresa of Calcutta, Baruipur on February 27, 2022 at 4 p.m. There were about 130 people present for the prayer. Among those present were Bishop, priests, sisters, brothers and the faithful of cathedral parish. The prayer service evoked the ethos of gratitude and respect before the magnanimity of Late bishop Linus Nirmal Gomes. The two contemporaries of his time, Rev. Fr. Pradeep Roy and Mrs. Alpana Gomes, shed some lights on the life and mission of bishop which was for many inspirational as well as informative. Listening about his personalities generated reverence towards him. The book, "In memories of Most Rev. Bishop  Linus Nirmal Gomes S.J." written by Rev. Fr. Jeyaraj Veluswamy S.J. was released by Most Rev. Shyamal Bose. Subsequently Fr. Jeyaraj presented a copy of the book to the bishop and then bishop presented the copy to Fr. Francis Makhal, Sr. Daisy Rani, Mr. Chinmay Mohanti and Miss Sudipta Malita. He then in a nut shell briefed about the book. Thereafter, all went in procession to the bishop's house cemetery for the blessing of the grave by the bishop. At the end of the prayer all were served tea and snacks.
