Blessing of the new Regional House

The 7th of December 2024 was a day of immense joy and divine grace for the Society of the Sisters of St. Anne, Chennai. The occasion marked the Blessing and inauguration of the newly constructed Regional House, Gnana Nibhas, located at Haridevpur under the Parish of St. Anthony's Church, Keorapukur. This significant milestone coincided with the 150th death anniversary of the congregation's Founder, Servant of God Thatipatri Gnanamma, to whose loving memory this house is dedicated.

The Most Rev. Shyamal Bose, Bishop of Baruipur, solemnly blessed the house, emphasizing in his homily that the Lord's presence would dwell here continuously, making it a beacon of Christian faith for all who enter. He warmly and happily welcomed the Sisters into his Diocese, assuring them of his unwavering support. The inauguration was graced by Rev. Mother Clara Vasanthi SSAM, the Superior General, who presided over the ceremonial opening, and Rev. Sr. Celine Fatima, the Regional Superior who unveiled the commemorative plaque.

It was indeed a great occasion with the presence of great people like Most. Rev. Salvadore Lobo, Bishop Emeritus, Many Priests, General Councillors, Provincials, Religious Sisters, Parishioners, well-wishes, neighbours, Mr. Bobby, Mrs. Christina, building workers, and the Sisters from our North and Northeast Region. The Regional House stands as a testament to the Congregation's commitment to God's mission in the North and Northeast Region. Now they are entering into the Baruipur Diocese as the 7th Diocese of the Region. Baruipur Diocese now become a part of this legacy. May this house serve as a sacred space and the mission of Christ for the years to come.
