On 27th of February 2022 there was a youth orientation at Khari Parish on the theme, Youth and Synod. On that day 65 young people from the Parish including substations participated in the orientation. The day began with the Holy Eucharist offered by Fr. Ramen Pailan, the Diocesan Youth Director of Baruipur, He prayed for the youth and their parents. In his homily he said that they should help each other instead of judging. The orientation began with welcome ceremony led by Mr. Sastik Kanji and Megha Kanji, the parish youth members. They welcomed Fr. Ramen Pailan, the Director, Fr. Panneer Selvam, Parish Priest, Fr. Sarojit Mandal, newly ordained priest of Baruipur, Fr. Pradip Dari, assistant parish priest of Khari, Sr. Martha DSA, Superior of Khari and Mr. Sarbeswar Chakrabarty, Diocesan Youth President of Baruipur, with flowers and performed a beautiful prayer dance. Fr. Saorjit Mandal was invited to give message for the young, and in his message he said that this is the time when youth can setup their goal, they have to study well and work hard to get a good achievement. Fr. Raman Pailan started his session on Youth and Synod. He divided the youth in eight groups and beautifully explained the meaning and the mission of Synod. He encouraged them to know the present situation of the society and how the youth are losing themselves. They had a workshop and were given few questions to discuss. The youth discussed and answered the questions. They have also discussed and described the difficulties they are facing in their youth ministry. According to the questions they expressed how they helped the church to build a Synodal Church. Mr. Sarbeswar and Fr. Ramen helped them to solve the problems and the difficulties they are facing in the youth ministry. Mr. Sarbeswar quoted few points of Holy Father Pope Francis and gave them three points from where they can get most of the solutions and can help to build a community. He said Learn to Forgive and Love, Share and Care and Guide and Lead. He Clearly explained them how they can forgive and love each other as well as how they can share their experience and take care of their family, friends and the Church member and also to the non Christians. He also mentioned how they can guide the children and youth and how they can lead them in a good way. The orientation ended with the vote of thanks by Fr. Pradip Dari.
